Opioid Use Disorder Treatment With Medication and Counseling
MAT Treatment and Suboxone Care at Recovery Care
MAT may be right for you if you’re struggling with opioids, including prescription pain medicines, heroin, or fentanyl, and you want help with cravings and withdrawal. You don’t have to hit a low point first, and you don’t need to have tried everything else.
The Congressional Research Service describes MAT as the combined use of medication and other services, such as counseling, to treat opioid use disorder. Dr. Rosen listens to your story, reviews your health, and talks with you about whether MAT fits your goals.
MAT visits take place in person at our offices in Jeannette, PA, and Keyser, WV.
Medications Used in MAT
The medications used in MAT are FDA-approved for opioid use disorder, and they have been shown to reduce opioid use when they are part of a comprehensive treatment program. Dr. Rosen offers:
Buprenorphine
Buprenorphine medications, including Suboxone, Subutex, and Zubsolv. Buprenorphine is a partial opioid agonist. It activates opioid receptors in the brain, but to a much lesser degree than a full opioid. Suboxone and Zubsolv also contain naloxone.
Vivitrol
Vivitrol, which contains naltrexone. Naltrexone is an opioid antagonist. It blocks opioids from acting on the brain. Vivitrol is given as a monthly injection.
Naloxone
Naloxone, a medicine given when a person shows signs of an opioid overdose. Ask Dr. Rosen about naloxone, so you and the people close to you are prepared.
Counseling for drug and alcohol use is available at our Jeannette and Keyser offices. Dr. Rosen talks with you about which medication and counseling plan fit your needs.
What to Expect From Treatment

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Recovery Care offer Suboxone treatment?
Yes, Recovery Care offers Suboxone treatment as part of MAT at our Jeannette and Keyser offices. Dr. Rosen also offers other medications, including Subutex, Zubsolv, and Vivitrol, and she talks with you about which one fits you best. MAT visits take place in person.
What is medication-assisted treatment?
Medication-assisted treatment is the use of medication together with counseling to treat opioid use disorder. The Congressional Research Service describes it as the combined use of medication and other services, such as counseling. At Recovery Care, Dr. Rosen builds your MAT plan around your goals and reviews it with you over time.
How does Suboxone work?
Suboxone contains two medicines, buprenorphine and naloxone. Buprenorphine is a partial opioid agonist, so it activates opioid receptors to a much lesser degree than a full opioid. This helps reduce cravings and withdrawal symptoms. Naloxone is included to discourage injecting the medication. Dr. Rosen explains how to take your medication and what to expect.
What should I tell Dr. Rosen before starting MAT?
Tell Dr. Rosen about every medication you take and about any alcohol use. The FDA advises people not to take unprescribed benzodiazepines or other sedatives, or to use alcohol, while taking MAT medications, because the combination raises the chance of harm, including overdose and death. The FDA also says MAT shouldn’t be withheld just because someone takes these medicines. Dr. Rosen builds a careful plan with you. If you ever think someone is having an overdose, call 911.
How do I schedule an appointment at a Suboxone clinic near me?
We make it easy to schedule, and we offer online scheduling. You can request an appointment online or call us at (304) 790-7467. Tell us you’re interested in MAT, and we’ll match you with an in-person visit at our Jeannette or Keyser office. We look forward to seeing you!
